Coming up with the actual eleven best songs by The Band is something that no two fans would ever agree upon. That said, this set at least utilizes a wise mix of the familiar classics ("The Weight," "Up On Cripple Creek," "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down") and the less familiar but equally classic tracks ("Ophelia," "It Makes No Difference," "Twilight"). Any music library can only be enhanced by the presence of MUSIC FROM BIG PINK, THE BAND and STAGE FRIGHT. However, if one wishes to play simply one disc as a tour of this important ensemble, then this collection meets the need admirably.
