Naturally evolving from the expansiveness of Rot Forever in favor of a smarter and more focused approach, the album transmits as something uniquely hushed and organic. While previous material felt more like a band exploring numerous diverse avenues, Daymoon pulls back and showcases heightened attention to detail. Still, the honest, heart-on-sleeve songwriting remains, even if the band has chosen subtler paths to deliver its message.
