Though it would be another three years before he formed Camel, keyboardist Pete Bardens was already a seasoned player in 1970, having worked with Van Morrison's Them and others. His 1970 solo debut, THE ANSWER, is poised halfway between progressive rock and psychedelia. While post-psychedelic bluesy, wah-wah-laden riffs abound, touches like the semi-classical keyboard work on the title track foreshadow the prog-rock heights Bardens would soon hit with Camel.
