One of the few female rap groups to thrive in the mainstream without sacrificing their dignity, Salt 'N Pepa are the true divas of rap music. Salt, Pepa & their DJ-turned-rapper Spinderella have maintained a positive and classy attitude throughout the years. After a four-year musical hiatus, the trio returns with BRAND NEW to continue spreading their message.
BRAND NEW is a socially-conscious album, focusing on Salt 'N Pepa's desire to pull people together and stop the violence, especially within their own community. "Imagine," which features Sheryl Crow, envisions peace and unity in a world without hate or prejudice. To showcase the sassy side of the group's personality, there's the diva-ish "Boy Toy" and "Knock Knock," which highlight SNP's not-havin'-it attitude, and propulsive dance-floor tunes such as "RU Ready" and "Gitty Up."
