While some power-poppers flirt coyly with Beatles influences, New Jerseys' Smithereens put their cards on the table. The follow-up to their 2007 Beatles tribute MEET THE SMITHEREENS, B-SIDES finds the band faithfully covering--you guessed it--classic Beatles b-sides, like "You Can't Do That," "P.S. I Love You," and "If I Fell." While they recreate the original arrangements pretty much note for note, Pat DiNizio's deep, distinctly un-Beatley voice can't help but add a fresh flavor to these timeless tunes.
